Using XHTML for Web Design
Published March 18th, 2008 in WebmasterHTML, which is the acronym for Hyper Text Markup Language, is a type of code that has been used in web design since 1990. Over the years, all types of websites such as ecommerce have found huge success with this type of coding. However, as with any technology, HTML has not been the perfect solution. In fact, many web design experts believe HTML has created too many problems, causing frustration. Because of the growing issues relating to HTML, another option was created in 1999 called eXtensible Hyper Text Markup Language was created.
With this new option, capabilities of web design are much greater. For instance, XHTML allows you to do much more than you could have ever done with the earlier version of HTML. With changes in how search engines work, web design pages need to be created, allowing them to be read by computers, instead of humans. Your website pages will be searched, read, analyzed, and indexed according to keywords, phrases, and coding so that search engines can find them and produce them when someone performs a search. By using XHTML, your website can be read easier, which in turn makes it easier to find. The result is greater traffic and thereby, more sales.
